	Details	This course will enable candidates to carry out their own pre-use safety check on a tail-lift and will cover all safety aspects while using a tail-lift.

Pre- Requisites:

Have already a good knowledge of the basic operating system of a tail-lift.

Course Syllabus:

• Pre-use safety checks and maintenance
• Safe operation of the tail-lift
• Manual Handling Hazards associated with type of tail-lift, load, equipment and environmental conditions
• Position of the operator while operating the tail lift – solo and multiple operators.
• Parking and vehicle position
• Risk of falls – operator, goods and third parties

	Details	Section 13 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 gives employees the rights of consultation and representation regarding issues concerning safety and health at work, and gives employees the right to elect a Safety Representative.

Section 13 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 gives employees the rights of consultation and representation regarding issues concerning safety and health at work, and gives employees the right to elect a Safety Representative. Legislation also requires the employer to allow the Safety Representative acquire the knowledge necessary to discharge his / her function as a Safety Representative. Attendance on this Safety Representatives Course will provide the participants with the relevant knowledge.

	Details	This is a half-day course designed to provide the course participants with the appropriate knowledge of the hazards and dangers of working with Abrasive Wheels. It also provides the participants with the expertise required to mount an abrasive wheel.

• Identify the hazards of working with Abrasive Wheels.
• Evaluate the causes of abrasive wheel accidents.
• Define the method of selecting the correct wheel for the job.
• Inspection and testing of the abrasive wheel.
• Guarding of the grinding and cutting operations.
• Dressing and truing the wheel.
• Functions of the components, flanges, blotters etc.
• Differences between grinding and cutting operations.
